COMPARISON BETWEEN COGNITIVSIM AND CONNECTIVISM

LEARNING SCENARIO:

Cognitivism

One application in my Kindergarten class  is when I ask the children to sort out Math manipulatives . They are given, various counters, blocks, or toys which they group according to size, shape, or color. This involves recognition and reasoning.

Connectivism

A different application of the same sorting task,  may be done in the computer using online sorting games or educational cds that promote critical thinking.

In both instances, facilitation and monitoring from the teacher was necessary.
