Elementary
I attended a private Elementary schools for girls, and learning how to cook was part of the curriculum. In 7th grade, we prepared different kinds of meals, shopping and preparing the ingredients, and cooking it the way our teacher demonstrated it. I also remember making index cards of the recipes we would prepare.
College
In college, I took up Physical Therapy and one of the most- awaited (or dreaded) course requirements was to dissect a cadaver. At first, our professors showed us how to go about it - from skinning and cutting into the muscle; but as we got deeper down to the bones, we were pretty much exploring on our own, trying to identify all the parts that we have learned from the Anatomy books.
Professional Learning
From PT, I shifted into teaching, and many years later, owned and managed my own preschool. To provide quality service, we hired HR trainers to teach our employees excellent customer service in the preschool setting. Many of the content from that training were converted and applied as company policy.
